Specimen Q216A is a .30 Carbine caliber cartridge
which was identified as having been loaded into and extracted
from the same weapon which fired the four cartridge cases from
the abduction scene, specimens Q15 through 018, and the two
cartridge cases found outside the bank, specimens Q213 and
0214. The Q201 through Q204 cartridges found in the bank were
also loade@ into and extracted from this same weapon.
Specimen Q216A has been loaded with a copper-jacketed
bullet. The “LC 42" headstamp indicates it was originally
manufactured by the Lake City Ordnance Plant. .
The 0216B nickel-colored cartridge found in the
vehicle contains no gunpowder and appears to be toy ammunition.
Specimens Q232 through 90982 consist of fifteen boxes
containing 75] .30 Carbine caliber cartridges. All of these
cartridges have been loaded with copper-jacketed-bullets. They
bear a "30 1 5°” headstamp which indicates they are of Dominican
Republic manufacture. Cartridges of this type are imported by
the Mars Equipment Corporation, Chicago, Illinois. Nothing
was found to indicate that any of the 9232 through 0982 cartridges
were loaded into or extracted from a weapon. ;
. Specimen 9985 is a 6mm Remington caliber cartridee of
Remington-Peters manufacture which has been loaded with a 100-
grain copper-jacketed, “soft point" bullet. Nothing was found
to indicate that this cartridge has heen loaded into or extracted
from a weapon. Further, nothing was found to associate this
cartridge with previously submitted ammunition.
Specimens Q217, 9218, 0227 and Q228 are typical of
automobile debris which accumulates during normal every day
usage. The mineralogical debris in Q217, 9218 and Q227 is too
mixed and contaminated to be of lead or comparison vaiue
: Specimen Q228 contains numerous black silica slag
particles and a few metal shavings. Therefore, it is likely
