VESICATION Dote of tron scription May 22, L974 Approximately 4:30 to 5:00 p.m., May 16, 1974, he = was standing in the driveway of THOMAS PATIN's residence, 2049 West Ll5th Street, and heard what he belleved to be many shots being fired in the area of the shopping center at Imperial High- way and Crenshaw Boulevard, south of his neighborhood, He continued that the father of PATIN had been visiting his son and was preparing to leave in his turquoise station wagon. At about this time he observed a yellow car with a black top going east on 115th Street, apparently stall in front of the PATIN's resi- dence. A man got out of the passenger side of this vehicle and approached the PATINs, This man said something to the effect, “Sorry brother, we have to take your car. We're from the SLA, give me the keys", This man was carrying what ip, believed to be a machine gun, holding it in both hands witn ing over the right shoulder, SE: ::-; that the man said something to the effect that they would not hurt the car -and that it would be returned by the police, and was waving at two girls still in the yellow and blaek car to join him, which they did. Both of the girls carried similar weapons as to that of the male. , . | ccrexiie that Mr. PATIN had been fumbling with his keys and tinally gave the male his car keys. The male got in the driver's scat of PATIN's station wagon, and the girls also got in the car. He believed one got in the rear seat and the other got in the front passenger seat. The male, backing the station wagon out. of the driveway, proceeded east on 115th Street, and south on Terron Street, which is the first street east off 115th Street.
