Examination being requested on afore=describad i items’ is in connection with developing further evidence as‘ to identifying individuals involved in the robbery of the iiibernia Bank, 22nd and Noriega Office, San Francisco, Cali- fornia on 4/15/74. San Francisco also desires to establish extant of membership of the SLA using the Golden Gate Avenue safehouse. EXAMINATION DESTRED (1) Will examine ali four items, where practical, for fingerprints; - : (2) It is requested that Ltem B-1-N be examined for any tool markings which might identify the round with weapons previously known ‘ta be in control of the SLA, which weapons might have -been“used at the time of the PATRICIA HEARST kidnaping or in connection with the robbery of the Hibernia Bank, San Francisco. (3) Examine item F-5-£ for avecifics as to what extent they have been disarmed and identify the contents which nav2 been removed from each of the snelis. Afford this same examination to item F-5-7 and also for these iatter two items, along with F-5~-F, an examination for teol marks which indicate that they have previously been in weapons known to ba in control of SLA members or which might be picked up during the contin- uing investigation of the SLa. If feasiple, the FBI Lao and Identification Division ar@ requested to include the San Francisco item identification “number in their report, along with the FBI Identification or Lap Number in order to facilitate the locating of the various items of evidence in the San Francisco and U.S. Attornav’s Office. ° ALL the enclosed items snould be treated as evidence and after the examination is completed, they whould be returned to San trancisco along with the results of examination.
