at FBI Headquarters, contact American Legion representative
to determine feasibility of circularizing Wanted Flyer Number
475, which contains the fugitives' photographs and descriptive
data, to all Legion Posts throughout the United States as well
as having this Flyer published in the American Legion
Magazine. ve

Division, contacted Mr. William Fe“Hauck, the National Adjutant us
of the American Legion, regarding this project. Mr. Hauck
indicated the Legion would be more than happy to cooperate
with the FBI in distributing our Wanted Flyer to the American
Legion Posts throughout the country. Mr. Hauck stated he
could arrange to have the mailing labels furnished to FBI
Headquarters which would facilitate our mailing approximately
16,000 ‘Plyers to the various American Legion Posts.
Mr.. Hauck further advised that the American Legion
has a publication "Advance" which goes to each Post Commander
on a weekly basis and he would arrange that in the next issue
a notice would be inserted alerting the Post Commanders that
the Wanted Flyers were coming and that each Post Commander
should insure they are prominently displayed in the American
Legion clubhouses. Hauck also stated he was traveling to
Legion Headquarters in Indianapolis shortly and would confer
with the magazine editor regarding the publishing of the
Wanted Flyer. Hauck was optimistic regarding the Wanted -
Flgers being published in the Legion magazine. He did, howe ex,
nate that there/is a bee lead time in the magazine's
pupparation.
