himself as telephonically
contacted the Director's Office, at which time the call wags

said that Patty's mother and father, on the ©
ast Coast, are very upset because some local authorities
are spreading the word that “the FSI has a $1 million bail
on Patty Hearst." He said he tried to explain to Patty’s
parents that the bail is not set until. after a person is
arrested, and that any recommendations to the judge concerning
bail after arrest are made by the prosecuting attorney and not —
the FBI.
