cartridge cases. The primers of these cartridge cases have not
been fired and therefore bear no firing pin impressions. Toolmarks -
present on the sides of the Q1643 through 91645 cartridge cases
were {dentified as having been produced by the same tool as. marks --—-
present on the Q1042 through 01043 and Q1045 cartridge cases found ir
-the hallway closet at 1827 Golden Gate Avenue. The marks pronent
* om these specimens are located on their sides and appear to have
been produced by a serrated-jawed tool, such as a pair of. pliers.
These marks were possibly placed on these specimens when the .
bullets were being unseated and removed from the cartridge cases.

: Marks present on the primer of the Q1643 cartridge case ™
were identified as having been produced by the game source as marks ©
present on the primers of the Q197 and Q199 cartridge cases and
0206 cartridge recovered inside the Hibernia Bank, the Q1045
~ \ gartridge case found in the hallway closet at 1827 Golden Gate
°- -Byenue and the Q1572 through Q1584 cartridges recovered at 833
~West 84th Street, Los Angeles, California. These marks appear to

oo Specimens Q1621 through Q1640 are 12-gauge unfired
. shotshell casings which have been opened and had their shot removed.
we Printing on these specimens indicates they were originally loaded
al. with OO Buck. Although the Q1621 through Q1640 shotshells are all -*
WES of Winchester-Western manufacture, four different types of shotshell:

~ Specimens Q1641 and 01642 are 12-gauge Remington-Peters
"Express" unfired shotshell casings which have'also been opened.

they were originally loaded with No. 1 Buck. These specimens could
have originated from any of the seven Remington. “Express” 12-gauge
_shotshell boxes represented by specimens Q1602, Q1603, Q1611 and the
"Also Sutimitted” items. .
Specimens Q1621 through Q1642 bear no marks of value for
identification with a weapon. _ ¢
All of the above-listed specimens are being retained in
. the Laboratory for future comparisons.
