This memorandum sets forth current status of recent investigation being coordinated by the Los Angeles ¥ Office (LAO) and San Francisco Office (SFO) in this case. : GRAND JURY MATTERS: ~ William Lewis, Manager of Radio Station KPFK, Los Angeles, California, was granted immunity on 10/18/74 by Judge Andrew A. Hauk in a Federal bombing case. However, as before Lewis refused to turn over a communication received 4, by his station in response to a Federal Grand Jury subpoena. Lewis was cited by Judge Hauk for contempt of court and x . imprisoned. Once again, U. 5S. Supreme Court Associate Judge William 0. Douglas granted an indefinite stay to allow Lewis to appeal the contempt citation. : FALSE IDENTITY SURVEY: 7 . | The survey designed to detect any individual who applied for a U. S. passport under false pretenses since the SLA shoot-out (5/17/74) in California continues. Washington Field Office (WFO) advised 11/11/74 it has received all! U. S. passport applications from LAO and SFO. WFO estimates an additional 3-4 weeks to complete its review at the State Department.
