The caller stated that e were cars parked in the area watching to which SA repli®d there were cars all over the place including the motel, the gas station, the parking lot and in the car lot down the street, but that no one was in them. ' The caller then stated he understood the answering party's © problem but that he had t6 check a few things out with his people and get some answers, and would he answering party back at 2:30 AM. At that point SA efused to wait until 2:30 AM stating he was going back to get the money and the caller said just take i ,. go have a cup of coffee and make it 1:30 AM. SA gai .:::: refused and he said he would call back at 12:30 AM and not a minute later. He then terminated the call after approximately six minutes. os , At 12:49 AM, January 5, 1975, s: received . another call at which time the caller apologized for , calling late and stated that they did not want to deal any further that night, that from now on it would be strictly face to face hat S$ man would deal with SA only and 38 Gem cou not be accompanied by . his companion. He said we know what you look like and what your car looks like to which A ao 1 SS no you don't, we had to take the car back to the rental agency because the heater went out on it and we are now driving another car, a-new yellow Plymouth Fury with a white top. SA -then told him he would not be sbhaumd the following day, that he had pusiness in Los Angeles the next day which haa ' handled before he returns to San Francisco. SA then told the caller he did not believe he had PATTY at alli and he felt he was just somebody who likes to make telephone calls and furthermore, he was not dealing any further with gangsters or walking down any dark alleys.
