Wee ¢ Telephone Rm. _ ’ : Director Sac’y At 11:30 p.m., January 30, 1975, Len Deibert, Managing Editor, WMAL News, telephonically contacted SA f the External Affairs Division. Deibert advised that at approximately 11:13 p.m. he had received an anonymous cali from a male who inquired as to whether Deibert was a reporter.- Deibert responded that he was the News Editor for WMAL News and thereafter the caller advised him that Patty Hearst would be arriving in Washington on a Piedmont Airlines flight sometime around 4 p.m. on Friday, January 3lst, and that she would thereafter be traveling to Baltimore. Deibert advised that the caller then terminated the call. Deibert stated that the caller — had no noticeable accent; however, he appeared to be a mature male who gave | no indication of being intoxicated or “pulling a joke." The Washington Field Office was immediately advised of the above facts and indicated that they would haye an Agent promptly personally contact Deibert. The Alexandria Office was also furnished the above information.
