Ysckground iavestigations and interviews of
persons in vicinity of Sureau Agent posing as Mr. HEARST's
representative on Jenuary 4, 1975 being completed with-
out effecting positive information to identify the unknown
subject in this matter. Investigation being directed to
identify and locate a Royal typewriter which the FBI
Laboratory concluded prepared both letters sent to
Mr. HEARST in this matter.
Re: WILLIAM WALTON and JACK SCOTT
On January 16, 1975,.WILLIAM WALTON, Portland
Trailblazer bdvasketball player was interviewed at Cleve-
land, Ohic and he denied any knowledge of the HEARRAP
case. WALTON advised SCOTT and his wife, MICKI, have.
resided with him in West Linn, Oregon since the middie
of August, 1974. WALTON stated he is unewere of any travel
of SCOTT with the HEARNAP subjects to Pennsylvania in July
or September, 1974. In addition, WALTON edvised he is
unfamiliar with any farm associated with JACK SCOTT in
Pennsylvania WALTON stated SCOTT is a very close friend
of his and they have never discussed the HEARST case.

Cleveland located registration cerds for Dr. J.
SCOTT and Mr end Mrs. JOHN J. SCOTT for June 21, 1974
at the Quality Inn Ambassador, Perrysburg, Ohio. There
were tw. individuale in each party and both parties
registered with a Ford LTD bearing Ohio license YM6915.
