. GENERAL INVESTIGATIVE DIVISTON oo
HEY @meP SUMMARY e™
This is a summary of the active fugitive cnvest Wation
being conducted based on information being furnished by
PH 4389<PCI concerning the coast-to-coast travel of SLA
fugitives Patricia Hearst and Emily and William Harris in
June throygh September, 1974.
On 2/18/75, our Philadelphia Office advised that source
identifie& four motels in the Berkeley, California, area
frequentlY used by Jack Scott, one of which could likely
be the motel where Scott's parents picked up Patricia
Hearst in JMme, 1974. Source also advised that he was
told by Jack Scott that the fugitives have “good identifica-
tions in the names of deceased persons." Source added that
Jack Scott may have been instrumental in procuring these
identifications while in the New York City area. Source |
stated that Jack Scott and associates use a "relay system”
frequently when communicating by phone. This involves call-
ing a third party to relay message by phone to the person
for whom message was intended. Source to travel to
Los Angeles, ostensibly for employment, via his parents'
home in Las Vegas where he will make discreet inguiries
regarding present location of SLA fugitives.
Our Las Vegas Office recommends that three undercover
Agents obtain an apartment at the Camelot Apartments prior
to the time that source will arrive to visit his parents
in order to assume an around-the-clock fixed surveillance
of John and Louise Scott. (under evaluation) {7
Computerizca telephone toll analysis and vigorous
