hound Bus Station Locker for “‘L**. Tupe record-
ings of his lengthy harangues were submitted for
analysis to the Laboratory’s Translation Unit
which provided substantial linguistic profile
information and helped identify the ‘Alphabet
Bouber’’ as Muharein Kurbegovic, u 3t-vear-old
Yugoslav with access to explosives miterial,
With his arrest, the bizarre bombings ceased.
TRAINING DIVISION,
FBI ACADEMY
The accomplishments of the Training Divi-
sion during Fiscal 1975 centered around the FBI
Acadenv ut Quantico, Virginia, its (reining pro-
grams, and other services of the Division which
were administered by FBI Headquarters personnel.
During Fiseal 1975, a total of §,613 taw en-
forcenent personnel, including FB Avents and
emplovees, received. training al the Academy.
The Training Division sent S$ new Agents, four
of whom were women, to assignments in the field.
Personnel attending in-service training programs:
a the Academy numbered 3,414 during the fiscal
year. “.
* These programs included training in Investi-
vation of organized crime, white-collar crime and
sex crimes, us well us in fingerprinting. FBI po-
lice instructors received traininuy on how to teach
principles of supervision to state and local law
enforcement officials.

of instruction while participating in 10,516 law

The FBI National Academy, established in
1935, provides a professional (aiming program to
career Jaw enforcement personnel from throuzhout
the United States and some from foreign countries.
Duting Fiscal 1975, 994 students graduated
trom four National Academy classes, the 9Sth
throush the 101st Sessions. This specialized
program has now graduated over 9,000 students.
Also during the fiscal year, 920 previous gradu-
ates of the FBI National Acadenw program re-
ceived refresher icaining at the Acufeny.
Various seminars and speciahiz.d schools
were conducted ut the Academy during Fiscal
1975. The first national seminar on Women in
Policing was held during May, 1975, Forty-nine
participants, Tepresenting police agencies from
30 different states, attended.
