Open Letter to the People _ We are ex-meubers of the Sytbionese Federation. We resigned collectively froz . the Federation inmtediztely after the esSassination_of Dr. Marcus Foster. ‘Se had intended simply to dissociate ourselves from the SLA in rractice, by ceasing to vork vith them. . Since tke kidnapping of Patricia Hearst and the Publication of the _ Declaration, however, we feel compelled to make a rublic statenent concernins our criticisms-of-the SLA and our history with the Federation, because ef their destracive @ misrerresentation of the revolutionary movement. ‘he obvious first step is to eeal with the SLA's tragie misuse of violence. The revolutionary role of "necessary" violence is the opposite of what the SLA ~~ ——nettlieves, and practices, as recently, where they @ecided, se- arately from the rest of the Federation, to murier Foster.
