lax C* My life really changed a year ago today. Cn Feb. 4 1 proved to myself and we all proved to each other that we were guerrillas and that the revolution will be made by datermined people who do determined things and ds"'t let anything stand in their way. It was really a turning point in bistory because it kicked the whole intellectual movement out of their armchairs and it . showed all those beautiful people on the streets that the SLA is another matertal reason for them to continue to hope for change. Right from the beg inning you amazed us because you were strong- -eren as @ kidnap victim you were matter of fact about the weird situation. We dug it, but we were also wary -- we thought maybe ‘ meme eal you were plotting ageinst us and all youKtalk, sense of humor and cooperativeness was just a ploy while you tunneled out thru the floor. Having, vou there put a responsibility on all of us to get out shit totally together and to do it fast because we knew that we couldn't make any mist&kes. We were really a guerrilla army unit then fgall the strength, audactousness and ‘common sense that it takes to be successful. - You made everyone feel so good because of your responsiveness and enthusiasm. The food program, Randy and Catherine, the piss and all their harrassment clues, all the tension of being 8 fugi- tives holed up in » tract house was all such frustrating shit, especially. knowing we weren't moing to get Ossie end Bo out. I mean the only highs we got were from looking forward to the nest action, from seeing the few responses of righteous people like Towndsend on TV and from seeing you change to become e@ comrade. We all have high (the highest) expectations of each other, and we gat disappointed when our expectations fall short, but I won't ever forcet the inspiration that vou were to all etexht of us and to all the strangers who celebrated with us. The three of us make more demands on each other than anyone ever has even in the cell before. There is no one for us to rely on or sap off of. .It's clear that conditions aren't gping tofall. into our Japs anf nothing's going to be easy. We aren t even close to sharing revolutionary relationships with each other- because we don't evan know what those kinds of relationships should be like -- we only have hints and hopes. But what's takked about and fought about between these four walls don't amount to shit compared to revolutionary action. All nine of us were totally different people after that kidnapning and the bank robbery; the three of us ére totally diff eople efter LA. We're alot stronazer and tougher, byt-y “t mek any sense of that until we ch)year the% wish they could vyolutionary society and to become revolutionary s t 2 he revolution, and the only way to make the {on igf“to BIGHT. Let's do 4t and when it hapyens that willbe 1 cau celebration. forret.e The only wa JUST AS THE C&TERPILLR BECOME A BUTTERFLY SO THE MAN(WOMAN) CHITD BECCMES AN ARMEN CCMBATTANT . DEATH TC THE FASCIST INSECT THAT PREYS ° ON THE LIFE OF TE BEOPLE.
