The first 4a the combat unit, whose main responsibility is to fight. The second is the tactical support unit, whose primary ‘ebjeative is to insure the success and survival of the combat unit. Without firhters, the people would be defense- lesa against fosciem and there would be no revolutionary war, and without support there would soon be no fighters. Each depends upon the other for its survival and freedom. Each cell of the Symbionese Liberation Army's tactical’ support unite may be composed of elements of other organi- gations and grou%s as well @s individuals. Tactical support can be provided in many categories and on many different levelse In some instances, a group of as Many as 10 persons may make up 9 tactical eupport cell. Other units may have as few as one individual. Catecories of tactical support are: Medicals Treatment of injured, sick and wounded. Education and training in emergenoy medical treatments Armory: Vaintenance, repair and development of weapons, ammunition and explosives. Intelligence/Surveiliance: Research, infiltration a preliminary operational survelllancée Communications: Inter-cell communications between combat forces and between combat cells and tactical support unitse Study and formi~ lation of secure communicetion methods.
