| Just about a reek ago I read the story of a convoy which was wiped out
on the foad from Bethlehem leading dorn to Hebron. It vas & convoy carrying
supplies to a settlezent I had visited -- Kfar Etzion- And as I read that
story I recalled that on my visit to t-is settlement, a little girl six or
seven ycars old handed me a emali bouret of flovere and asked me to tale
greetings to the little girle in America. They «cre rather faded flowers,
because the peorle at Kfar Etzion had to get their water by truck from 7
Jerusalem. I think of trucks leaving the city of reace, leaving Bethlehea .
on their wey to ifar Etzion -- I think of needless death -- end I think
of the little girl with the faded flowers aud her greetings for the little
girle in America.
we have betrayed that little girl, tie Jexieh pioneers in Palestine,
and -- no less importantly - ~- the Arab peoples uho should be freed from their
feudal lords. They have been betrayed for the sake of o4l and o11 profits.
