GERTRUDEXSTUMEF: I T-5 advises that GERTRUDE STUMPF is a
long-time merber of the Communist Party and that as. late as 1950, STUMPF
was endeavoring to Create*sone activity among the Communists in Chatta-
nooga.
TVA IRU/EXDRIDGE: CI 7-5 advises that ELDRIDGE was a_menber of
the Communist party for a number of years. He also adyised that she

* TTIMAN CADLE: JOE TIPTON, on October 5, 1950, advised that
TEIMAN CADLE openly advocates Communist principles, acknowledges he is
a Communist, and speaks of an expected revolution in the United States.’
Mrs. MYRTLE MREADWAY and Mes. BIREL GOINS, both of Knoxville, advised
on July 25, 1950, that CADLE had visited their homes and had made state-
ments which were unmistakably Cormunist in nature. Mrs. GOINS advised
that she has heard CADLS make reference to the expected revolution in
the United States. She has also heard him make statements to the effect
that he was strongly in agreement with the foreign policies and current
activities of the U.S.S.R, He also openly admitted his mombership in
the Communist Party.
