journalist, of 237 East 48 Street, New York City, telephoned the New York

. THOMPSON said that this morning's newspapers carried a reply f from Ma¥sh&le
=z STALIN to the open letter of HENRY WALLACE dated last week. A.side from the
“s undesirability of having WALLACE conduct negotiations with another country
through such a letter, Miss THOMPSON advised that she had a "hunch" that
WAILACE had been in touch with Moscow prior to the issuance of his open
