We have, of course, had occaston to contact representatives of this school on individual cases such as applicant and securtty investigation, The purpose of the applicant inguirtes has been to secure information at its source for guidance of governmental agencies in constdering applicants for appotntment. In fulftiling our responsibility to protect the internal security of the country, the Federal Bureau of Investigatton ts charge@g to investigate any individual upon receipt of substantial information reflecting that individual to be engaged in subversive activity. We have in the past conducted a limited number of security investigations of individuals requiring inquirtes at the Highlander Folk School.
