WHEREAS, It has been reported that the Highlander Research Center of Knox County, and persons and organizations affiliated therewith, may be involved in activities subversive to the government of our State and that it is in the interest of the State and its people that a committee of this General Assembly be constituted for the purpose of investigating such reports and be granted full power to subpoena witnesses, to take testimony, to impound records, an@ to do all things necessary to accertain the nature of the activities of the said Highlander Research Center and of such persons and organizations as are aifiliateé with it; HOW, THEREFORE, SECTION 1.
