University, during
August, 1970,
requested and
received
from prison
authorities at
Danbury Federal
Prison, Danbury,
Connecticut, permission
to visit
with Daniel
Berrigan and
also during
August, 1970,
requested permission
to visit
with Daniel
Berrigan and
his brother
Phip Berrigan,at
the
same federal
prison.
Daniel Berrigan
on November
8, 1968,
was
sentenced to
the custody
of the
United states
Attorney General
for destruction
of.
government property,
to wit,
Selective
Service records.
He began
serving this
sentence August
11, 1970,
at the
Federal
Correctional Institution,
Danbury, Connecticut.
Philip Berrigan
on May 24, 1908,
was
sentenced to
the custody
of the
United States
Attorney General
for destruction
of government
property, to
wit, Selective
Service records.
on November
8, 1968,
he was also sentenced
on another
charge of
destroying government
records. He
was incarcerated
at Baltimore
County Jail,
Baltimore, Maryland,
from May
24,
1968, to
July 5,
1968, when
he was
transferred
to United
States Penitentiary,
Lewisburg,
Pennsylvania, for
imediate transfer
same
date! to
Federal Prison
Camp, Allenwood,
Pennsylvania.
He
was
released on
bond
December 12,
1968. He
was rearrested
on
April 21,
1970, at
New York
City, New
York,
and was held at
the Federal
Detention
Headquarters, New
York City,
until May
1, 1970.
He
was
then transferred
to the
United States
Penitentiary, Lewisburg,
on May l, 1970.
He
remained there
until August
25, 1970,
when he
was transferred
to the
Federal Correctional
Institution, Danbury,
where he
currently remains.
