and extremely intelligent. both as to his owm national
police problems as yell as those of countries abroad TI
was interested to discover in our first conversation that
he was so familiar with the latest developments of your’
organization, whereupon we discussed you and the wonder-
ful work you have been doings, and I find that he was in
constmt correspondence with you. When, on January 24th, .
I received your welcoma letter, and the enclosed aiscussions N
of’ finger prints, I brought it down to his office to
discuss the details with him, He expressed sincere interest
in the work you are accomplishing and his appreciation
of your fine cooperation with his own Bureau.

the enclosure entitled, ‘“tocal Law Enforcement in Relation
to National Crime", etplcned to your letter of the 15th.
The last time we met, resident Welhaven and I talked
much of you - go your ‘ears must have burned to the boiling

the forthcomingYInternational Police Conference if you
could attend. ‘ve felt that it would likewise be helpful
to the F.B.I., for an exchange of ideas at that time might
