- I am personally persuaded that, knowing your ideas you. are -- intensively decided to cooperate actively end to he > wd . every mean in your power. : There is one point I like to make clear to you: it ts the ennual financial contribution. A resolution was pessed to fix the first contribution, in order to enable the reconstruction of the Comuission, the Iner- netione]l Bureau and its depending branches. You will find enclosed a copy of this resolution. I am cuite aware that zou will find the rate too high for a State of considereble popula- tion, and for this reason I pointed out, at the Session, thet the amounts are especially fixed for the countries of igier population which heave, nearly on the same scale, the benefit of the Commission and its organisation; also that the financial contribution of States of high population, for instance U.S.A. end U.nsk.S. is rather symbolic and that the amount may be lez to the discretion of their Government. Therefore, I vereenetiy gsest thet if your contribution equeis that of e Stete with a posuletion for instance, of 60 wuillions inhebitants, the Genersci secretary will only be too glad to receive it. But I must add immediately that the financial contribution is of minor interect to us: the najor fact is your active cooperation to our Commis- Bion. - bas: Hoping that you will be so kind as to Give vour epprovel me along the above-uentioned lines, I send you my kindest regards, hoping tO be able to see you soon, if possible in Hurope. twee ~~ FEB.
