Pie tats = At the Executive Conference on November 16, 1948, the following being in attendance: Messrs. Ladd, Glavin, Tracy, Harbo, Mohr, Carlson, Nease= Nichols, Clegg, Rosen and Fletcher, advice was furnished that the Secret General of the International Crimina] Police Commission had informed the Jy Pureau Legal Attaotie, Paris, France, that at the recent General Assembly meetings of the/fnternational Critrinal Police Commission held at Prague in a om , September, _p-Stbcomi tee Panties was created and there also exists a oY conmittee-omrcounterfeity The Secretary General proposed to invite a Se eee ok of the United States Narcotics Bureau to participate in the fimctions of the committee on narcotics and also proposed the participation of a representative of the United States Secret Service on the committee on nounterfeiting, It was indicated that if arrangements could be perfected for the Treasury Department to participate in the activities of the Commission they would be asked to contribute financially to the support of the Commission, Tt was noted that the Bureav at the present time has the only designated repre- sentative of United States investigative agencies as a member of the International Criminal Police Commission and that the Bureau expends the sum of $3,000 per year to maintain this membership; that the Bureau serves as liaison between the Commission and other investicative agencies within the United Etates. The problem presented related to the desirability of registering objection to the proposals tc invite representatives of the Treasury Department to participate in the activities of the Commission, La Aetear ad °ris oon.
