2. Circulars and flyers are not to be handled, but will afl
be destroyed upon receipt.
2e Inquiries requesting information, by eipnature or form
letter, will be honored. Those pertaining to ddontification matter
only will be handled by the Identification Division and acknowledzed
by air maide Inquiries for tany information' shall be nandled by a
search throngh the Identification Division files, and the results
furnished to tha Foreirpn Liaison besk which will cause a search of
the Racords Section to by made and prepara the acknowledgment to
IcpC. Inquiries received requesting placement of a wanted notice
will be made where a positive record is located. The notation
shall read: ‘Location desired by International Criminal Police
Commission, Paris, France (reason piven by ICPC for desiring
subject's apprehension) por information received (date).' Upon
receipt of information indicating the wanted subject’s location,
a copy of thy record will be furnished the Foreign Liaison Desk
for preparation of an air mail letter to ICPC."
The above procedure was discussed some time ago with Nessrse Indd,
Fletcher, and Keay in the Security Livision and was approved informally by the
Executives Conference with Messrs. Tolson, Glavin, Fletcher, Nichols, Fosen,
Nohr, Parsons, and Tracy in attendance, A letter was sent under date of
June 15, 1949, to tho Leyal attache, Paris, Franca, advising him in order that
he might inyvorm representatives of the ICPC as to the procedure boing followed
in the Jureau relative to tha placing of wanted notices and seerching in the
Identification Livision filose
