We might also cornment that the action of a = member of the Cominission in indulging in criticism of the Fb at meetings c~. ef the Con.nission was a situation that I did avt intend to tulerate and to cone- ° tinue membership in the Conimission in the face of such actions would commit me to condoning such an attack and criticisms unless I sew fit to enter into , rgumentation or controversies about the matter discussed, and that 1 did not have the Hime nor the desire to answer or discuss such petty and unwarranted attacks upen the FBI. I would make the letter cordiil but hold out no hope for any change in our position in this matter.
