Dailey had been found dead on January 1, 1944 by the chamber
at the Wiestchester Avertments in Feshington. According to
an attempt was meade on Dailey's life approximstely three years «go
by persons unknewn when he was injected with poison by means of a.
hypoderuic feedle .uile ssleep. ir. Dailey recovercd frou this
experience and from thet time on was afraid for his life, having
had Police protection at on& time. The cause of the ettack was not
ascertained, but Mr. Deiley suspected tlet representatives of certain
large oil companies nad tried to block tne ment of a twrenty-
acre oil trect which he held in Texas. iirt also stated that
Dailey had appeared before a Senzte investigat committee which was
incuiring into oil operations in Texas.
Because of tne above circumstances, Mr. Dailey had asked Mr.
that any evidence of foul play might be recognized. iir re-
guested tnuet the Bureau investigete the metter.

ment and gave the information to him. He stated that the Homicide Squad
had already checked into the case but that he would report my call to _—
