A wry from Chidsago made a personal cell and wanted to speek to
Mr. Hoover. ‘he operator told Mr thet Mr. Hocver was not in the building
and he then replied that he wanted_to speak to him at home. The operator
did not obtein the identity of Mr. but did find cut thet the reasen
he wented to speak with the Director was because he thought the Chicago Office
had framed him on a robbery charge and he wanted to report it. The operator,
Miss Virginie Fhillips, also reported that had seid he had tried to
telephone to President Roosevelt. After he wes advised that Mr. Hoover was
not evaileble, he then said he wouid telk with me. The call was a prepaid
call, but ur. QEBBR evidentiy ran into some trouble with the telepone operator
over the charges, es the call was never completed and the operator reported
F - that he wes evidently drunk.
