He refused to speak to an assistant because ‘Nobody but Mr. Hoover can help me," He terminated the call by saying he might try to contact the Director the following week. a a ra . Shirley did contact the Director's Office again on 12-7-60 and spoke to Special Agent Thomas Mitchell. He referred to the Director and Mr. Tolson by first name and said he met the Director at Atlantic City some years ago. He stated that on 1-15-61, the Variety Club in Buffalo would be installing new officers and he wea tet Tile + 2 would like the Director to bé an honorary guest.
