Pikes Caeds BACKGROUND: — ——————————— Minneapolis, Minnesota, telephoned the Bureau 2-3-71, and spoke with Special Agent Robert B, Davenport of the Crime Research Section, Le | said she was in Minneapolis, Minnesota, and was preparing to board a piane for Washington, D. C., to talk with the Director about a very urgent matter. She said she needed help desperately, but declined to discuss her problem over the telephone. She inquired as to whether the Director would be available to talk to her in the late afternoon of 2-3-71, Ld as «:: told that the Director would not be able” - to ta&e time from his busy schedule to talk to her, and she was again asked —y the nature of her problem. She restated the fact that she did not wish to discuss _ bic the matter over the phone and at this point, it was suggested she contact Special - Agent in Charge Held in Minneapolis. She was told that Mr. Held, acting as 5 Mr. Hoover's personal representative, would discuss her problem with her in : confidence and tell her whether or not the FBI could assist her.
