Mr. Donovan was aware that the FBI did not have jurisdiction, however, requested assistance in contacteng the Federal Aviation Agency ~ (FAA) to determine the identity of the unknown caller. He noted difficulty in contacting FAA. At 5:22 a.m. Mr. Bruce Slater, Duty Officer, FAA, Washington, D. C., was contacted by SA Sarhatt and advised of the above facts. He stated that there were no plane crashes in the State of Washington in the past 48 hours. He stated that his office would be advised if there were any air crashes resulting in death. At 5:32 a.m., Mr. Donovan was contacted and furnished the above information from FAA. Mr. Donovan requested recontact of FAA to determine if any plane -crashes involving an adult and three chilidren,in the entire country. /P2--— Ff ; “el py 329 REG 20 66-3 OPP At 5:37 a.m. Mrz Slater, FAA advised that there were three plane crashes in the past 48 hours.
