Hoover stated to write a strong memorandum to the Attorney General advising him of the facts and stating it is honed that the Dept. will see fit to proceed against the Teamsters’ Union. Mr. Tamm advised of the extoriion case at Buffalo involving the manager of thellarrison Radiator Co. at Lockport, N.Y. anc inquired if a release should be given out in case prosecution is brought in this case. Mr. Hoover OK'd the release. Mr. Tamm advised that Judge Holtzoff had called and referred to the bulletir about the investigations for emergency corporations stating thet the\RFC and the Commodity Credit Corporation wished. the Bureau_to handle their crimin 1 cases for em. Mr. Hoover stated to tell Judge Holtzoff that the Bureau will be very glad to_all the RFC investigations but will not do part of them. Mr. Tanm stated that CorporaNyorn had arrivea to review the Condon reports; 3 that there was memorandum made by Agent Turrou for the file on Sept. 21, 1934 S regarding the identification of Hauptmann by Dr. Condon. Mr. Tamm stated it did € %% , not appear whether a copy of this had been furnished to the N. J. Police but that . 3 he would check. Mr. Tamm advised of the trouble Tnspector\priffin isk having at Memohis in obtaining witnesses for a perjury case, due to the fact witnesses are exployed at a hotel which is under Federal receivership. Mr. Tamm stated he was writing New Orleans telling them to go to the receiver or the Federal judge. Mr. Hoover stated to do everytaing possible anc to advise Inspector Griffin of what we are trying to do. Mr. Tamm advised of the press dispatch from Los Angeles re the arrests and activities by Weal Intelligence officers againstyradicals. Mr. Hoover advised of the work thet the Treasury is doing for the Naval Intelligence and stated a close contact should De kept with this situation. Mr. Tamm advised that in regard to the report that George D. Vieforxama of Louisville is missing, that Dewey advises the facts to cate do nod warrant an investigation. Mr. Tamm advised a check was being made of report from Grand Renpic Hichnigan to toe effect that Dainard had been seen there.
