Mr. Hoover stated tha thought this would make a good news story to give out that. our man in {France has the half million dollars worth of bonds. Mr.Tamm stated that . Mr. Keith further advised tha¥/Oswald will arrive in New York on Sunday. Jute. Hoover iristructed Mr. Tamm SO Call Mr. Keith toddéy’and find out.just - MfWhat the status is. Mr. Tamm was instructed te send to Mr. Roover at the Z Hotel New Yorker a short memorendum of facts.on this case. Mr. Tamm 's further advised by Mr. Hoover that it mayobe a good idea for hin, gh je. Hoover to give this out at New York tonight.or tomorrow. Mr. Hoover pe. jtold Me. Tamm to inquire of “r. Keith why he has allowed this man to have : is picture taken with him. Mr. Hoover stated that.hé was leaving © ~ for New York City at 1:27P.M., Washington time; that: he will be at the {New Yorker at about 3:30P.M., Washington time. ", Mr.- Tamm stated that shen he talks to Mr. Keith he will have Mir. Ke th. make tentative arrangements with the French Fiice so that if we need here, they will be able to’ send Klein over here to us. My. ‘Tamm was instructed | to send the menorandun by special delivery. en : “He an ewes ene een ’ With reference to the situatjon in Indianapolia yesterday, Mr. -Taum read to Mr. Hoover the memorandum which he had-prepered for the ttiorney General. Mr. Hoover advised Mr. Tamm to change the memorandum to read "long established policy" instead of well established policy and to include "long established policy laid down by the Department for the Bureau", Mr. Hoover stated further to include"since that investigative agency wes in full possession of all detail facts concerning the defendant fugitive". Mr. doover asked Mr. Tamm to call Mr, Dowd and inquire of him if anything has appeared in the Indianapolis vavers; _ that if nothing has appeared in the sepers the memorandum should be sent around to the Attorney General with his, Mr. Hoover's signature to it and also marked "important and urgent"; that if there has anveared anything, Dowd should contact Val olan and tell Nolan that he, Dowd Ce has deen informed that Nolan fas made such a statement; that he,:Hr. Hoover yy had made inguiry concerning it; that he, Mr. Hoover, wanted to know if ; it was a fact that he was correctly quoted; that if Nolan says he was correctly quoted send the memorandum around.
