My dear Mr Mackey:
~ I have delayed answering your letter of the 12th
instant for the reason that I have been emieavoring to as-
certain the facts as to which you enmguire through the files
ef the local office of the Bureau of Investigations.
fFhese records, however, are quite evidently in-
ecomplete or a portion of them have been misfiled, so they
afford little or no information.
I find from the stub of one of my personal check
books that under date of July 14, 1919, I issued to the or- |
