Dear Sir:
Judge James Gordan, attorney for Henry Rohner, one
of the defendants in the above case, called upon U.S. Attorney
Kane this afternoon end I joined them in a conference with re-
spect to Mr. Rohner.
Mr. Rohner's original attorney wes Mr. Eggleson, and
it seems thet at the time of Rohner's arrest he handed Mr.
Eggleson two packages which he hed in his safe; these packages
heving been sent to him from the German reider, Pring Eitel.

office this efternoon advising him as to how they came into
his possession, 88 covered above, ani requesting that we open

The other package was sent to Mr. Rohner by X. Errickson ~«
with a letter attached thereto along similer lines, copy of which ---
will be sent to you leter. The package Wes sealed and when
“opened {t contained a linen bag within which we found $500.00 in
American currency and 2379 German marke.
