My dear Mr. Hoover; I desire to make of record the appreciation of the War Department, and particularly of this Division, for the many excellent reports received through your office concerning conditions in Mexico. These reports have been of the greatest value to the Division in obtaining a correct estimate of what wes occurring along the border and south of 4t. Many of them give us an angie that we could obtein in no other way. All ere carefully prepared, accurate and conservative reports by trained investigators: and, therefore, exactly the claes of material most useful to the Military Intelligence -—--- Division. I have followed our usual practice and have acknowledged ealy those commnicatione which required action. I hope you anderstand that we are none the less appreciative of all reports received, and J assure you the cooperation of your office has been of the greatest aesistance to this Division.
