I heave been informed thet the “PATIO Off THE PRADO* vaters
to the more exclusive class at Habana for dinner and supper and the
guests to a large extent are members of the Diplomatic Corps and high
government officials. another place which Mr. Sumner fells, the formr
Ambassador to Cuba, recommends as being very exclusive, is the “SANS
SOUSI", which, I understand, is an open air cabaret which caters to the
more elite clasa of Cuban society.
Government Transportation Request:
I have been informed by the State Department that the trans-
portation facilities in Cube are required to report immediately to the
Cuban Government the identity of all persons traveling on Government
Transportation Raquest.

letter makes reference to the very splendid work which you and your
men have been doing for our Goverment. A copy of this letter is
enclosed in en envelcpe so indicated end marked “No. 5”.
I am also forwarding herewith copy of a letter dated Februery
ll, 1936, from Hiss Ruth Shipley, Chief, Passport Division, Department
——-——— -—— -9f State, to the Honorable F. Lemnot Belin who resides on an estete know —_
as "On the Edge of the Blue* at Nassau, Bahamssa. Wiss Shipley has been
personally acquainted with Mr. SYelin for many years and she referred to
him as a cereer men of the State Department; former Ambassador to Poland,
related to the DuPonts of Deleware and a man who hes a splendid personelity
end is enjoying life on his very beeutiful estnte known as *On the Edge
of the Blue” at Nassau. There is attached to the copy of this letter
the personal ecard of Miss Shipley introducing you to Mr. Belin.
It will be noted in this letter that Miss Shipley steted that
