Deer Hr. Hoover:
Please be savised of ew recent visit peif the Tloriés State
Prison Faru at Reiford, Florida, ty Special Arent F. a. Alt, et which
tine in the course of an interview had with Mr. L. C. Chapman, Super-
intendent of the inatitution, the matter of the Bureau's Identification
a Hviaion was brought wp. Mr. @hapmean stated “You know I am reenlty “~~~”
interested in thet eark, It's the greatest step forward that furtice
has ever tekex and lir. Hoover carteiniy hes it functioning beautifully
in the gpeet service it renders to law-enforcement officers.”
Por your information, I might state that Mr. Chapman, who
is very much interested in criminology and pene) institution work, is
highly regarded in this state. Oniy recently he was lauded and commended
by the innetes of hie institution, for his feir and considerate trest-
ment of them, in a testimonial s¢eroll which they had, without
solicitation, prenvered and presented to him, and caused to be published ---
: in the Floride press.
Personally, I believe that Mr. Chapman's expression, above
quoted, coming from ea man of his standins, is one to which the Director
and the Bureau can justly point with pride.
Very truly yours,
