MEMORANDUM FOR MR. TOLSON
Re: Medal of Honor to J. Kdear Hoover
Attached hereto is a copy of the bill introduced by
Senator Mead to authorize the presentation of a medal of honor
to J. Edgar Hoover. The bill, S. 357, was r-ferred to the
Cormittee on the Judiciary,
Like the bills introduced in the House by Mr. Walter
and Mr. Dickstein, this bill would authorize the President,
in the nane of Congress, to present a medal of honor to
J. Edgar Hoover for his untiring devotion to duty in the
apprehension of the Nazi saboteurs last June.
The bill will be closely followed and further action
will be brought to your immediate attenti-n.
