My dear Mr. Hoover:
In accordance with your request, I am
sending to you a letter in respect to your Reserve
commission similar to that which has been addressed
to all of your associates in the FBI.
I did not, however, want this occasion
to pass without adding thie personal word to assure
you how deeply I recognise the importance of the work
which you have performed end are performing for our
government and the high respect and regard I have
always felt for you. The fact that you wish no
distinction made between you and your sasociates only
mbancea the esteem which I feel for you.
