Dear Sir: For inclugion in the fund to be paid to the widow or designated beneficiary of any Special Agent of the Federal Bureau of Investigation, United States Department of Justice who had contributed to this fund subsequent to August 31, 1944, and who dies ¢ i from any cause except self-destruction while employed as a Special Agent, I am forward- ing herew:th (by CHECK - MONEY ORDER) the eum of ten dollare (810.00), made payable to the Chief Clerk of eaid Bureau, to be included in said fund. Payment will be made for déath by self-destruction after the Agent has been a penber of the fund for two years. It is understood and agreed that the sum tendered herewith is a voluntary, gratuitous contribution to said fund, which I understand is to be administered in the following manner: The Director of the Bureau will appoint « committee which shall consider all Matters pertaining to the acquisition, safe keeping and expending of said fund, #hich committee will recommend appropriate action to the Director of the Bureau in pertinent Matters. The Chief Clerk of said Bureau shall receive all contributions and account for game to the Director. Upon the death of any Special Agent, the appointed committee will consider the case and submit a recommendation to the Director as to ite conclusions. Appropriate in- structions will then be issued to the Chief Clerk, directing him to pay to the designated beneficiary the eum of §10,000.
