TAUSCOTT i from this position on August 18, 1953, and of course lost out at the same time. He is now unemployed and is attempting to ebtain an investigative position in this area. GR wae visibly disturbed by the allegations made by GP during the slleged conversation in Mareh, 1949. He said that it vase impossible fer him to understand why would make such statements. He said several times during this interview that he has alvays had the highest admiration for the Director and the Bureau and that he always cooperated vith the Agents of the Washington Field Office even though it vas — compon knowledge that po eppesed to any such cooperation. He mentioned that he was at one time assigned to wu squad car in the 8th Precinct and that he felt it was an bonor to have the responsibility for protecting the Director's home. He indicated that on frequent occasions they would drive by the Director's home just to be sure that everything was all right. He aleo said that he vouldn't trust "as far as I could throv a street car" and that (was the type of person who would "out out your beart for a fast dollar.® At the conclusion of the interviev, QP repeated that the only time he ever discussed the Director vith E> was in December, 1948, as related above. I would like to point eut that QP wvas fully cooperative during this interview and expressed considerable anxiety that the allegations made by might effect our feelings and relations toward him. He appeared to be very sincere and forthright in his denial of the allegations mde by QP and I bave no reason to believe that he was met telling the truth based on his recollection of his dealings 2258 eee, wlth Gy.
