RE: @& J-Edgar- Hoover -——____- ‘ype or print plainly} Dear Sir: For inciusion in the fund to be paid to tha designated beneficiary of any Special Agent of the FBI who has pt + previously contributed to this fund and who dies from any cause except seli-deatruction while employed ae a Special Agent, fam forwarding herewith (by CHECK - MONEY ORDER) the sum of $10, payable to the Assistant Director, Administrative Diviston, FB), to be included in said fund, Payment will be made for decth by self-destruction after the Agent has been a member of the fund for a continuous period of two years. It is understood and agreed that the sum tendered herewith is a voluntary, gratuitous contribution to sald fund which I understand is to be administered in the following manner. The Director of the FBI wiil appoint a commitiee which shail consider aii matters pertaining to the acquisition, safe keeping and expending of said tund, which committee wiil recommend appropriate action to the Director in pertinent matters. The Assistant Director of the Administrative Division of the FBI shall receive all contributions and account for game to the Director. Upon the death of any Special Agent who is a member of said fund the appointed committee will consider the case and submit a recommendation to the Director as to its conclusions. Appropricte instructions will then be issued to the Aselstant Director of the Administrative Division, directing him to pay to the designated beneficiary the sum of §16,000, The licgbility of the tund shall not under any circumstances ezceed the amount of monies in the fund at the time any ability shall occur.
