the group and drove to Charleston, Mississippi, where
they conducted a voter registration rally, After the rally,
about 300 Negroes were led by King to the Tallahetchie
County Courthouse in Charleston, King and his group left
Charleston at 3:30 p.m,, at which time, 50 persons were
