The October 5, 1936 issue of the "Daily Worker" listed
James Cagney as one of a number of Hollyvood screen stars who had
raised funds to aid the Salinas Lettuce Strikers. The article
also stated that Cagney, Pat C'Brien, Chester ‘orris, and Edward
Arnold marched with the actors' delegates in the Los Angeles
Labor Day parade.
