By letter dated June 7, 15 “9 » the Milwaukee
Office advised that upon yre-interview, . THOMAS
F. GRADY advised that he was _scmewhat gonfused regarding the sale of the
Woodstock Typewriter to FANSLER-MARTI, partially because there had been a
practice in the Philadelphia agency of the Woodstock Typewriter Company at that
time (1927) wherein "junior salesmen? would go around to various offices and
leave a typewriter with a stenograplier in that office. A week or so later
one of the salesmen would follow upfand attempt, to sell the typéwriter. Tt
was GRADYts original recollection that this procedure had tsen followed in the
case of the sale of the typewriter ha FANSLER-MARTIN but ..c was not at all sure
on this point.
HARRY MARTIN was recontacted with specific reference to this
point and advised upon reflection that it was his opinion that the Woodstock
Typewriter purehased by FANSLER and himself had actually been left at the
APPROVED AND SPECIAL AGENT DO NOT WRITE IN THESE SPACES
