WELTE on June 5, 1950 in captioned matter, the back issues of Time magazine on file in the Periodical Section of the Philadelphia Free Library, Logan Square, Philadelphia, were checked and it was noted by the writer thet the neme WHITTAKER CHAMBERS first appeared in Time magazine under the heading "Contributing Editorst! in the May 8, 1939 issue, Volume 33, #19. His name last appeared under the heading "Senior Editors" in the December 13, 1948 issue of Time magazine. A copy of the May 8, 1939 issue of Time magazine was secured by the writer from the Reedmor Magazine Company, 607 Market Street, Philadelphia.
