On 11/21/50 Tcalledir. HINURICH of the Bureau and told him that Agent GREATHOUSE
had contacted ftcing absent, at which time
she showed him ipt of about 70 pages wnich basically was a write-w
indicating that
on ALGER HISS. She stated she thorght
6 pem., that night, would have no objection to eing photographed
and a photographic copy given to the Bureau. I told Er. HENURICH that she had given
Agent GREATHOUSE a copy of a letter from HISS to SYNCGMAN RHGE and another letter
which S/NDIFIR, the secretary to the U. S. Delegation to the United Nations in
1915, sent to SYNGITAT RHEE on the same date concerning the same subject.
T told lr. HExMRICH the question was whether or not the Bureau should accept a
and that my recormendation was that the copy not be ac~
cepted, but that in view of the fact that it might be of interest to the State
Department the matter was referred to the Bureau.

Mr. HGMERICH stated that the Bureau should, if [tas tendered, accept
it in the same mamner as it would any other proffered information, but that we
should make no request for it.
