Mr. Chancellor.was not intoxicated at that time and he believes
it quite possible that Mr. Chancellor was “peeping in apartment
windows." He added that he has “no firsthand knowledge that

on Fire Escape-Seized." The article indicates that Mr. Chamellor
was arrested early on the morning of May 10, 1951, on the fire --
escape of a Building located at 78 East Elm Street. The article
indicated that Mr. Chancellor could not explain his presence on
the fire escape and had been booked on a charge of disorderly
conduct. . -

indicates that Mr. Chancellor was seized on May 10, 1951, on,.-

preliminary hearing Mr. Chancellor had pleaded for leniency,
telling the court his job was at stake and his wife wag expecting
a baby. He stated he had been drinking and had cut through the
alley by the apartment house while on his way home, when he heard.
