John L Lewis — Part 3

In my memorandum to you of July 24, 1945, you were
requested to interview Mr. Bajorke ©
Ge UMevatterson, formerly Regional Director,
N.L.R.B. 13th Region. He is now General
Counsel, United Rubber Workers in Akron, Ohio.
I am reliably informed that Mr. Patterson will cooperate
to the fullest extent with your Bureau, and it is wnderstood
that he has significant information. Because he was Regional
Director in Chicago during the Mine "B" oontroversy, he should
be of considerable assistance to your Bureau.
It is requested that each of these officials and forner
officials be interviewed to determine whether or not they have
information regarding the issues of this case beyond that which
is reflected in the files of the National Labor Relations Board.
Weny of these individuals conferred at length with Elshoff and
Edmundson, and for that reason, they may be valuable witnesses
as to incriminating statements and admissions made by these
subjects.
Respectfully,
NDELL BERGE,
Assistant Attorney General.
